Follow road signs for City Centre, then Short Stay Parking (or for College area Downing if you're feeling brave). Now you'll pick up signs for the Lion Yard Car Park (Historic Centre). Car parking is pay on exit and costs £3 all night. From the Lion Yard Car Park: You're only about 50m away now. As you leave the car park, walk to The Corn Exchange - the big building on your left behind the lilac Coco Nightclub. The Kambar is three doors down from The Corn Exchange and opposite the Tourist Information Centre. Enter through the big oak door between the yellow Internet Cafe and the Jinling Noodles Bar. |

WAGN trains run to Cambridge from London St.Pancreas and London Liverpool Street until around midnight. Services resume around 5am if you miss the last train. Day return fare £20.50. Trains also run from Ely, King's Lynn, Harwich and Liverpool. From the station: Cambridge CitiLink busses Citi 1 and 3 run every ten minutes to the bus station (see directions below). Adult return £1.80. Or catch a taxi to The Corn Exchange (The Kambar is a few doors down next to the noodle bar). It shouldn't cost more than a few quid. Or walk (just over a mile): Walk straight out of the station to the end of Station Road. Turn right at traffic lights into Hills Road. Walk straight into town centre - road becomes Regent Street at traffic lights then St Andrews Street (now brick-paved). After the taxi rank in the city centre, bear left at the Lloyds Bank into the pedestrianised Sidney Street. A few metres along turn into the lane on your left, Petty Cury (by Phones 4u). This leads to The Guild Hall on Market Square. Turn left into Guildhall Street and then right into Wheeler Street (behind the Guild Hall). Coaches and busses to Cambridge run regular services. It's then only a 300m walk. From Drummer Street bus station: Opposite Departure Bay 1 you'll see Bradwells Court shopping arcade. Walk through the arcade onto St.Andrew's Street and turn right. After the church, bear left at the Lloyds Bank into the pedestrianised Sidney Street. A few metres along turn into the lane on your left, Petty Cury (by Phones 4u). This leads to The Guild Hall on Market Square. You can fly into London Stansted airport from many European cities with low cost carriers easyJet and Ryanair. On arrival walk to the coach station to catch the Jetlink coach number 797 or 717 to Cambridge Drummer Street bus station. Services run every hour (every two hours through the night). An open return costs £10. |
